WHEN: October 6th OR 7th - 6PM - 8PM. Choose ONE date to audition.

WHERE: Columbus North High School Studio Room (park in the teacher lot or the bus lot and enter through door #12)

WHO CAN AUDITION: This show will cast 4 Principals, 20-25 supporting/ensemble. Anyone ages 7 & up (The director is flexible on bottom age – must be able to read written instructions). Only the principal roles are gender specific; no limitations based on race or ethnicity. 

HOW TO PREPARE: Actors will be asked to read selections from the script at auditions. Materials will be provided—just come ready to read, have fun, and show us what you’ve got!

AUDITION FORMS & WAIVERS: You can complete our digital audition form here to save time when you get to auditions. You can review our participation waiver in advance here. Paper copies of the audition form and waiver will be present at auditions. A waiver must be signed by each actor auditioning in person and every cast member.

VIRTUAL AUDITIONS: Virtual auditions are also available for this production if you cannot attend one of the in-person audition dates. They must be submitted by October 6th. For instructions on submitting a virtual audition, please email nickhogan@millracetheatre.org.  

CASTING AND REHEARSALS: The cast list will be released on the MRTC website and social media pages on October 10, The first rehearsal will be on October 19.  Rehearsals will be no more than 4 nights per week, Sunday-Thursday (final schedule TBD). Principals should expect to be at most rehearsals. Supporting & Ensemble should expect to attend between 1-3 nights per week. All cast must attend every night during the final week. Principal Roles 

Kris Kringle -Warm, witty, compassionate man who sincerely believes he is Santa Claus. Brings joy to children and challenges cynicism in adults.  

Doris Walker- Smart, practical Macy’s executive and single mother. Protective, skeptical, and determined to avoid “fairy tales.”  

Fred Gayley - Kind, thoughtful lawyer and Doris’s neighbor.  

Susan Walker - Precocious, logical, no‑nonsense child who slowly learns to believe.  

Supporting: 

Shellhammer- Energetic, flustered Macy’s employee trainer 

R.H. Macy- Commanding, enthusiastic department store owner. Loves good publicity. 

Sawyer- Macy’s vocational guidance counselor; pompous, insecure, and convinced Kris is delusional.  

Judge Harper- Well‑meaning judge caught between duty and public opinion 

Mara - Sharp, no‑nonsense attorney determined to prove Kris is mentally unfit.  

Halloran- Judge’s political advisor; blunt, anxious about optics.  

Finley (Bailiff)- Friendly, supportive bailiff; comedic presence.  

Doctor Pierce - Kris’s former physician; compassionate and philosophical.
