Synopsis: Everything in Hatchetfield seemed normal until people began singing... Then, they began dancing... And now, a musical pandemic is sweeping the entire city. It’s up to Paul (an average guy who doesn’t like musicals) and his friends to stop this musical apocalypse and fight for humanity’s future.

    WHO CAN AUDITION: Anyone ages 18+

    HOW TO PREPARE:

    • What to Prepare:

      • 1 minute and 15 seconds of a song from the show

    • What to Wear:

      • Comfortable clothing for movement

      • Tennis shoes or jazz shoes recommended (not required)

    AUDITION FORMS & WAIVERS: All auditioners and cast members will be required to complete a participation waiver. You can review our participation waiver in advance here. Paper copies will be present at auditions.

    VIRTUAL AUDITIONS: Virtual Auditions will not be accepted for this show.

    CASTING AND REHEARSALS: The cast list will be released to those who auditioned the evening of Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 to auditioners and publicly released on the MRTC website and social media pages on Friday, March 27th, 2026. Rehearsals begin Monday, March 30th, 2026. Rehearsals vary by role (1-4 nights per week). All cast must attend every night during the final week, Tech Week (May 3rd -May 7th).   • Paul Matthews: A guy who doesn't like musicals and is unsure of what he wants in life. He has a crush on Emma, and frequently visits the coffee shop she works at as an excuse to see her.

    Emma Perkins: A barista who is trying to work her way through community college. She hates Hatchetfield, her job, and musicals.

    Ted Spankoffski/ Mr. Business #3: The office asshole. He has been having an affair with Charlotte for some time.

    Charlotte Sweetly/ Female PEIP general: An anxious woman committed to a failing marriage with Sam. She is secretly cheating on Sam with Ted.

    Nora/Deb: Emma's boss at Beanie's/ Alice's bad-girl girlfriend

    Bill Woodward/ Stu: A divorced father trying to connect with his teenage daughter, Alice.

    Alice Woodward/ Melissa: A teenage girl who is caught between her parents' divorce and facing the struggles of growing up.

    Zoey Chambers/ Greenpeace girl: A catty college girl who works with Emma. She loves musical theater, and is also having an affair with Sam.

    Professor Henry Hidgens/ Hot Chocolate guy: Emma's biology professor and doomsday survivalist.

    Mr. Ken Davidson/Greg/ Mr. Business #1: Paul's laidback boss.

    Sam Sweetly/ Mr. Business #2: Charlotte's cheating husband, a police officer who is having an affair with Zoey.

    General John MacNamara/ Rude coffee guy: A military general who finds Paul and tries to help. He works for PEIP, a secret organization that investigates paranormal, inter-dimensional, and extraterrestrial phenomena.
